A top official of Nigeria’s U20 National male football team, Paul has denied releasing his official Flying Eagles squad for the 2019 African Games due to take place in Morocco.
He has thus called on the public to disregard any list making the rounds on social media, describing it as not authentic.
On Saturday, news broke that former Cape Town Manager Paul Aigbogun had named his squad for the eight-team competition.
Topping the list is enterprising winger Success Makanjuola, Collin Sor, Detan Ogundare and Adewale Oladoye.
The supposed leaked squad list also showed that coach Paul Aigbogun had named Emeka Chinonso, Prince Eletu and Samuel Nnosiri.
“The coach hasn’t released his official list for the competition,” the top official said in a telephone conversation with Futbalgalore.
“The list flying around social media isn’t authentic. The official one will be revealed at the appropriate time.
The 12th edition of the Men’s African Games Football Tourney starts on August 14 with Nigeria drawn in Group A of the competition, to contend with hosts Morocco, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
Nigeria take on Burkina Faso, before matches against South Africa and Morocco in Rabat.
Burundi, Ghana, Mali and Senegal will battle things out in Group B in Kenitra.
