Ghali Ahmed scored a hat-trick as the Flying Eagles of Nigeria struck five times in Abuja to win 5-0 against Gwarimpa Stars FC on Thursday morning.
The Flying Eagles are preparing for the 12th African Games which gets underway on 14th August in Morocco, Futbalgalore.com reports.
Ghali grabbed a clinical hat trick, with Ibrahim Abubakar and lanky Emeka Chinonso getting on the score sheet in a complete massacre by the Paul Aigbogun managed side.
Ibrahim Abubakar powered the Flying Eagles in front from the penalty spot two minutes into the game.
Ghali Ahmad fired a beautiful shot into the back of the net for the second goal after being teed up by Saeed Jibril.
He was once again on the score sheet with a brave header after Jibril’s peach of a cross.
First half ended 3-0 in favour of the Morocco bound Flying Eagles.
On the hour, Ghali got his hattrick. Another header from a cross from captain Abubakar.
Lanky striker Chinonso Emeka wasn’t left out in the festival of goals as his rasping shot sailed to the net.
The 12th edition of the Men’s African Games Football Tourney starts on August 14 with Nigeria drawn in Group A of the competition, to contend with hosts Morocco, South Africa and Burkina Faso. Nigeria take on Burkina Faso, before matches against South Africa and Morocco in Rabat.
Burundi, Ghana, Mali and Senegal will battle things out in Group B in Kenitra.
