Fortuna Düsseldorf goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed his happiness over his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles.
The young goalie was invited on Wednesday by the head coach of the team, Gernot Rohr for an international friendly against Ukraine next month.
Super Eagles’ international friendly with the Senior National Team of Ukraine has been scheduled for Dnipro Arena on Tuesday, 10th September.
An excited Maduka Okoye took to the Social Media to express his joy.
“Can‘t express my feelings and how happy I am to get my first call up for the Super Eagles,” he wrote via Twitter.

Born in Düsseldorf to a Nigerian father 19 years ago, Okoye was eligible for the Super Eagles as the grandfather rule was invoked by the Nigerian Football Federation.
The 1.97 meters tall goalkeeper did not need to apply for a one-time change of association because he has not been capped by his country of birth, Germany.
He joined Fortuna Düsseldorf in the summer of 2017 from Bayer Leverkusen.
