Flying Eagles winger Adeshina Gata is confident the team will head to the 2019 African Games finals full of confidence after their flawless performance in the friendlies.
The Flying Eagles won four of their preparatory games ahead of the competition due to kickoff on Friday.
Paul Aigbogun’s team begin their campaign on Friday against Burkina Faso in Rabat with the Flying Eagles eager to battle for the three points at stake.
Wikki Tourists winger Gata says the Flying Eagles are in Morocco to make an impression but not just to make up the numbers.
“This is a good belief that we have in ourselves. We believe that in any tournament we attend we will always go back home with a trophy,” the tricky lad said.
“I believe this is a team that has the mentality to win every game that comes our way. This is a thinking that motivates us to win every of our game in every aspect,” he added.
The 12th edition of the Men’s African Games Football Tourney starts on August 16, with Nigeria drawn in Group A of the competition, to contend with hosts Morocco, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
Nigeria take on Burkina Faso, before matches against South Africa and Morocco in Rabat.
Burundi, Ghana, Mali and Senegal will battle things out in Group B in Kenitra.
CAF selected participating teams at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations to play in this year’s All African Games which is meant for U23 sides following the postponement of the U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
