Water FC central midfielder Adewale Oladoye insists Flying Eagles won’t be rolled over in Africa Games and has warned oppositions they aim to make a “statement”.
The Nigeria U20 team have landed in Rabat ahead of their opening match against Burkina Faso on Friday.
Paul Aigbogun’s wards are in Group A along with hosts Morocco, Burkina Faso and South Africa.
Ahead of their opening game against Burkina Faso on August 16, Water FC midfielder Adewale Oladoye, said: “We can’t wait to get started now.
“Our game against Burkina Faso will determine a whole lot of things,” the Water FC midfielder told Futbalgalore.com.
“I believe we will emerge victorious because we have decided to make a big statement in Morocco.
“It’s going to be a tough outing against Burkina Faso but we will do all we can to muscle out the desired result.
“We can’t afford to disappoint Nigerians and our coach who has so much believe in us,” the highly rated midfielder continued.
Oladoye added he was keen to prove he can thrive on the big stage.
He said: “For me personally I’ve played in some big games but everybody’s eyes will be on this tournament.
“I want to show that I’m more than capable of standing up and proving that I can play at this level. It was of the biggest targets in my career to help Nigeria win a major championship.”
