A wrap of Nigerian players involved in the UEFA Champions League qualification play offs on Tuesday.
CFR Cluj 0-1 Slavia Prague
Peter Olayinka logged 90 minutes for Slavia Prague who took a step to qualifying for UEFA Champions League group stage with a 1-0 win over CFR Cluj.
Lukas Masopust netted the only goal of the game in the first stanza.
Olayinka played from the left hand side of attack in a 4-5-1 formation at the Stadionul Dr. Constantin Radulescu.
LASK 0-1 Club Brugge
Club Brugge pipped LASK 1-0 at Linzer Stadion.
After a long ball, captain Gernot Trauner impeded David Okereke in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot. Hans Vanaken stepped up and hit with a shot in the left corner for a 1-0 lead for the guests.
The second half started with a dangerous attack of the visitors. Okereke crossed from the left to Dennis Bonaventure, who couldn’t score.
It was just as tight at injury time when substitute Yusuf Otubanjo’s second ball narrowly missed the goal after Frieser’s free-kick.
