Nigeria defender Chidozie Awaziem made his debut for Leganes in their 3-0 home loss against Villarreal.
The 22-year-old central defender lasted the full duration at the Estadio Butarque.
The versatile player warmed the bench twice prior to his debut on Saturday night.
Awaziem, who played for Nigeria at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, joined Leganes from FC Porto on a season long loan.
He is the only Nigerian player to play in the Spanish top flight on Saturday as defender Kenneth Omeruo is injured.
Samuel Chukwueze was an unused substitute for the Yellow Submarines.
