General Manager of Kwara United Badawiy Bashir has dedicated the title winning run of the Harmony Boys at the recently concluded Gov Okowa Pre Season Tourney to Kwara State Governor, His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Kwara United and Lobi Stars were deadlocked at the end of 90 minutes in a goalless affair. The match was decided at shootouts.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu was the hero as the Harmony Boys won 8-7 on penalties.
Bashir Badawiy congratulated to the entire people of Kwara State especially the Executive Governor Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq who he said has been of great support to the club.
“We have an Executive Governor who happens to be a football-loving person. He is ready to do anything for us as far as we can deliver,” Badawiy Bashir told the Media shortly after the final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Thursday.
“We also have a gigantic Chairman in the person of Hon Kunbi Titiloye, who is a workaholic chairman and who is here fighting tooth-and-nail to take care of the packages for the footballers.”
Kwara United have been drawn in the “Group of Death” that also includes Elkanemi Warriors, Niger Tornadoes and Gombe United.
“There’s nothing like deadly in football. Football is football. They have two legs, our players have two legs. I must take you back when I was in Rivers United, people said our group was a group of death and we ended up playing in the semi-final after eliminating the likes of Akwa United, Lobi Stars and the rest. So we are not scared of any group. We’ll play football, they’ll play football and at the end of the day, football will win,” he enthused.
He called for maximum support from fans, stakeholders and lovers of Kwara United as the management seek to reposition the club.
