Goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu was a crucial member of the Kwara United side that claimed the Gov Okowa Pre Season Tourney trophy.
The ex Nigeria U23 custodian was the hero as Kwara United won the tournament courtesy of a nail biting 8-7 penalty shootout victory over Lobi Stars on Thursday.
He was deservedly named as the best goalkeeper of the competition.
“I feel delighted and proud, I am happy about the award but I am happier we won the trophy. I feel so proud that in my first season with Kwara United, I am in the team to have won the first edition of the Governor Okowa pre-season tournament,” the shot stopper told Futbalgalore.com.
The former Heartland and Akwa United custodian dedicated the award to Super Eagles second choice goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
“I dedicate the award to someone I admire a lot in the person of Ikechukwu Ezenwa,” he added.
