Central defender Olisa Ndah says his hoping to help Nigeria qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament, Futbalgalore.com reports.
The Remo Stars defender will be one of the lads expected to paddle the boat of Nigeria at the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations next month in Egypt.
“Our plan is to qualify for the Olympics. We are back to camp and working hard,” the Remo Stars central defender began in a chat with Futbalgalore.com.
“It’s a privilege to play for the national team, I worked hard to be there.
“My focus is to help Nigeria qualify for the Olympic Games and every other things will fall into place,” he enthused.
The intelligent defender was part of the Super Eagles B team that failed to qualify for the 2020.
“We just have to give our best. We have used the matches at the CHAN Eagles to gain more experience. We are working towards making a lasting impression in Egypt.
The 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations will be the third edition of the quadrennial international age-restricted football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The tournament will be played between 8–22 November 2019. It will determine which three African teams will compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Japan.
