Nigeria international Victor Osimhen found the back of the net for Lille who were beaten 4-1 away to Valencia in match day four of the 2019/2020 Champions League.
Osimhen scored in the 25th minute to draw the curtain raiser after he got on a loose ball and drove inside the Valencia area before finishing past the goalkeeper.
Dani Parejo, so often the cause of everything good at Valencia, was at fault for Lille’s opener. The 30-year-old took a little too long on the ball and, as he went to play a cross-field pass, Benjamin Andre was able to tackle him, with the ball deflecting into the path of Osimhen. The Nigerian striker then showed his pace, getting to the ball before Ezequiel Garay and Gabriel Paulista, before displaying his composure in front of goal and firing past Jasper Cillessen.
It was his second Champions League and his first away from home for Lille.
Lille could however not hold on the lead and conceded four in the last 26 minutes of the game.
