Cletus Emotan has promised that Rivers United go into the weekend clash with Heartland with the aim of winning the game.
Speculation is rife that Stanley Eguma could be tempted to field similar tactics to that seen against Kano Pillars in the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last weekend.
Forward Emotan demonstrated his responsiveness to the team’s reliance on him on the counter-attack at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
However, where they eventually went on to draw with the former FA Cup holders, the forward believes the team go into the weekend home game against Heartland with the intention of picking up all three points.
“Heartland is a team that is good, but the fact remains we are aiming to defeat them on Sunday,” Emotan told Futbalgalore.com.
“It is true that the championship is long and there are still many matches. However, every point counts in the end and is likely to be important.
“That is why I will do everything to gain success, and I would be happy to also score the decisive goal.”
