Akwa Starlets defender Ibukun Harrison admits he is delighted with his side’s 1-1 draw with Heartland at the Okigwe Township Stadium on Sunday.
The visitors were forced to a draw by the Naze Millionaires in a week 3 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“This point is very important. If we had played that game 50 times we would have picked good results on 50 occasions,” asserted the defender to Futbalgalore.com in the aftermath of the stalemate.
“We gave a lot, but out of this we can draw conclusions and improve.
“We are delighted. The fact is that we have taken a point against Heartland and we have competed with them very well.
“The thing that interests me the most is that we did not make any mistakes.”
“I do not think Heartland were so superior to us. This is all very exciting and rewarding for us.
“We will try to continue to compete and we now have some room to face our next fixtures calmly, but we will not give anything away and hopefully in a few weeks we can say that we are still picking up points.”
