Following the conclusion of matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Futbalgalore.com selects the team of the week three.
Emmanuel Daniel [Lobi Stars]
The imperial ‘keeper kept out the Pillars army with impressive saves. Imposing.
Lawal Oriyomi [MFM FC]
An utterly confident performance from the pacey full, who contained the Rangers forwards with consummate ease. He dominated the left flank with his vision and positioning. Intelligent.
Reuben Ogbonnaya [Lobi Stars]
Tough and uncompromising in the tackle, he led the back line like he had been. Pillars attackers never got a look in and were seemingly overwhelmed by their ex teammate. Unyielding.
Joshua Akpudje [MFM FC]
The gritty defender was determined to let no-one pass. He also got under the skin of several other Rangers players who were openly frustrated by his ferocious tackling. Dogged.
Ugochukwu Aniekwe [MFM FC]
The defender was a danger throughout the game with his control and crosses from the right. Persistent.
Alex Aghahowa [Lobi Stars]
Showed why he was desperately wanted by top clubs in the NPFL with his non-stop prompting and pushing. Whether starting an attack or closing down the opposition, he was colossal. Ubiquitous.
Ayo Adetola [Delta Force]
Directing the play with his intelligent runs, the midfielder caused complete chaos in the Jigawa Golden Stars defence. Cool and commanding, he was at the heart of every attack. Untouchable.
Chuks Kenedinum [MFM FC]
Refused to give an inch and continually took the fight to the hosts. He worked well with his team mates and scored with a ferocious strike that turned out to be the winner. Determined.
Cyril Olisema [Enyimba]
Olisema was in God-like form as he ran rings round Akwa United. The former Gombe United and Ikorodu United star was the tormentor in chief for the hosts. Omnipresent.
Stanley Dimgba [Enyimba]
The winger scored and also provided an an assist for Obi Samson. Went close again only for Samson Gbadebo to block his effort. Exceptional.
Mustapha Ibrahim [Plateau United]
Scored with an utterly cool stuff before going on to worry the Wikki Tourists defence until the last minute. Always looking for a second goal, he had several attempts either foiled by Ibrahim Pius or narrowly off target. Unique.
